William "Bill" Buehrer Obituary

William “Bill” S. Buehrer, age 66, of Big Prairie, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 20, 2026.

A celebration of life service will be held by his family at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Holmes County Fire Department or the Rottweiler Health Foundation.

Bill was born January 20, 1960, in Bryan, Ohio and was the son of William E. and Rosaline (Curtis) Buehrer. He married Margaret Novak on October 22, 2000, and she survives. Bill graduated from Bryan High School and furthered his education at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio. He worked as a TPW at Mount Vernon Developmental Center for 15 years. Bill was a member of the Medallion Rottweiler Club for 41 years. He was a dedicated Rottweiler breeder and trainer who earned multiple obedience and conformation titles, including the certification of two therapy dogs. Bill was an avid Ohio State and Detroit Lions football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret are children Chantel (Allen) Mason of Hamilton, Indiana, Christine (Monroe) McCoy of Montpelier, Ohio, Pamela Stacy of Columbus, Ohio, Clifford (Lindsey) Stacy of Pickerington, Ohio, William T. (Mary) Buehrer of Edgerton, Ohio, Jonathan (Kayla) Buehrer of Archbold, Ohio, bonus son Kyle Belknap of Montpelier, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Robin (Jerry) Smith of Perrysburg, Ohio, special nephew more like a brother Mark (Ashley) Mills of Toledo, Ohio, several other nieces and nephews, and fur babies Lucky, Sunny, Maddie and Willie.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Mills, and special niece more like a sister Tammy Leyman.
