Metro S. "Mick" Malachin Sr.

Metro S. “Mick” Malachin Sr. 74, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away February 9, 2026, at Majora Lane Care Center following an extended illness.

 A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 1 p.m. April 25, 2026, at the Millersburg American Legion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare 1900 Akron Rd Wooster, Ohio 44691.

Mick was born July 14, 1951, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late George Malachin, Dolores (Fabian) and Theodore Zielinski. On April 21, 1979, he married Karen Schulz and she survives. Mick found joy in fishing, hunting and listening to Polka music. He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Karen, Mick is survived by his four children and their families, Nicole (Michael) Shoemaker, Melissa (Dan) Capalingo, Metro (Jessica Gardner) Malachin, Andrew (Christina) Malachin; grandchildren Ashley (Donnie) Dowling, Alexus (Lance) Dillehay, Abigale (Dylan) Schmidt, Cassidy (Brendon) Hood, Ryan Malachin, Kayla Malachin, Colin Soukup, Corbin Miller, Gabriella Malachin, Cierra Miller, Brinley Malachin, Ember Malachin, Jade (Logan Downing) Malachin, Andrew Malachin Jr., Margaret (Landon Belt) Malachin, Rylee Newton, Kelsee Graves, Emilee Malachin; great-grandchildren Carter Butler, Kennley Dowling, Dreyson Dowling, Brixton Yerian, Jameson Dowling, Myla Schmidt, Bailey Butler, Brantley Hood, Erin Dillehay, Amilia Brown, Bellamy Malachin, Malcom Malachin, Colson Malachin, Lily Belt, Chaplin Belt; brothers Christopher (Carleane) Malachin, Mark (Linda) Malachin; sister-in-law Ruth Malachin.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents, brother George Malachin and daughter-in-law Ashley Malachin.
