Albert A Wengerd of Walnut Creek, OH passed away on February 6, 2026, at Aultman Hospitals Compassionate Care Center in Canton, OH following a period of declining health.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday February 11th at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg, Ohio.
Viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday February 12th at Berlin Mennonite Church. A burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Berlin Community Cemetery followed by a meal and Celebration of Life with Pastor Jeff Hochstetler officiating at the church.
The family suggests donations to support patients and their loved ones be made to Aultman Hospice Compassionate Care Center by sending a check made payable to The Aultman Foundation, 2600 Sixth Street SW, Canton, OH 44710.
Al was born on October 29, 1937, to Amon and Elma (Yoder) Wengerd. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving as a submariner from 1957 through 1960. He resided on Ettie Street in Oakland, CA for 43 years and was well known as a problem solver and for his quirky sense of humor. He enjoyed photography, especially of birds.
He is survived by his brothers Mel and Roy and sister Becky along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary and brothers Levi and Cornelius
