Richard Eyler Obituary

Richard C. Eyler, age 77, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 7, 2024 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the West Holmes High School athletic boosters.

 

Richard was born April 20, 1946 in Massillon, Ohio and was the son of George and Anna (DeHass) Eyler. He was a 1966 graduate of West Holmes High School where he played all 4 years of football and 4 years of basketball. During the 1965 football season he was the first player to score a touchdown on the new high school's football field. Richard was a cook in the restaurant industry. He was always in the kitchen. Richard was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, Cleveland Browns fan and Cleveland Indians fan. He loved to watch and play golf in his free time.

 

He is survived by three children: Gregory Richard Ginther of Greenville, South Carolina, Jason Richard Day of Big Prairie, Ohio and Ami Nichol Doyen of Texas; five grandchildren: Aidan Eyler Ginther, Dakota Montgomery Ginther, Sage Geneva Ginther, Cameron James Day and Nathan Richard Day; his sister, Georgianna (Robert) Oswald of Millersburg; his brother, Raymond (Verlie) Eyler of Millersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Nelson Eyler; and son, Adam William Ginther.
