Gary Ross Obituary

Gary Raymond Ross, age 83, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his devoted family.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Gary R. Ross's name, 460 West 10th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210 or Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691.

 

Gary was born March 18, 1941 in Elyria, Ohio and was the son of Robert C. and Ada May (Stanford) Ross. He married the love of his life, Sharon Lynne Resar, and she survives.

 

He was a 1959 graduate of Midview High School. Gary was a member of North Eaton Christian Church for over 35 years. He volunteered for the North Eaton Fire Department for 10 years.  He was a member of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Club of Mansfield and was also a member of the Holmes County Home Auxiliary.

 

He was president and owner of Ross Incineration in Eaton Township (OH) and R&R Minerals of Millersburg.  Gary had an incredible engineering mind, he invented and constructed equipment throughout his life.  He took great pride in instilling this knowledge onto his children and grandchildren. His passion for working and producing is unmatched.  He believed that his greatest accomplishment was the closeness of his family.  He enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to the many family camping trips. With him was always his dog Molly and her buddy Roscoe. 

 

Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon, are his children; Debra Ross of LaGrange, Shar (Ron) Milner of Holmesville, Susan (Jay) Riley of Marysville, Pam Ross (Jim) of Kidron, Robert (Brenda) Ross of Clark, and Rick Ross of Millersburg: 17 grandchildren: 35 great-grandchildren: 8 great-great-grandchildren: Sisters Lynnette (Mike) Green of Wooster, Jennette (Midge) Ross of Brunswick, one brother Dennis (John) Ross of Wooster and brother-in-law Bill Cromling of Grafton.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada May on April 10, 1995, his father, Robert on November 15, 2005, a brother-in-law Alan Jackson, nephew Jack Jackson in 2020 and a sister Maureen May Cromling in 2019.

 

He will be deeply missed.
